OUR HISTORY

It all starts with the desire of Antonio Da Deppo, a man born and raised in the mountains but enterprising and visionary, to redesign the concept of eyewear, up until that time seen as a simple prosthesis, in an object of style capable of leaving a mark.

Emigrated to Turin at the beginning of the 50s, years of ferment in an Italy that after the war wants to recover and start living again, in search of fortune, finds work as a mechanic at FIAT, this is where he learns to use new machinery for the construction of metal components, but inside it lurks the desire to return home to his land and to put into practice what he has learned.

And so, after a few years, he returned to Cadore, where that eyewear district that is studied all over the world is beginning to be born. He opens a small workshop in his garage and starts producing molds for making glasses components, which he sells to some small factories in the area.

Soon he is no longer satisfied with being a simple contractor, he decides that the time has come to start producing finished glasses. He buys some new machinery and a new adventure begins.

In a few years the home garage is no longer sufficient to accommodate the first workers and the new machinery, so FRENK fabbrica occhiali was born in the late fifties.
